An MLB lineup optimizer built around how DraftKings MLB actually pays out.

Our research on ~76,000 real GPP lineups found that team selection and stack construction dominate MLB DFS outcomes far more than any single player pick. The optimizer is built around that finding, not a generic points-per-dollar solver.

How it builds a lineup

STK

Contiguous batting-order stacks

Hitters are stacked in real, contiguous lineup slots — the correlation structure that actually exists in a batting order — instead of an arbitrary same-team grouping.

VEG

Vegas implied-total tilts

Teams are ranked by Vegas implied run total for the slate, and lineup construction is tilted toward the highest-total teams — the single strongest signal in our stacking research.

2

Real secondary stacks

Beyond the primary stack, the optimizer looks for a genuine second team stack (2+ hitters), which our data shows roughly doubles the conditional rate of a top-10 finish.

C/G

Cash and GPP modes

Cash-game builds optimize toward a median-beating floor; GPP builds optimize toward ceiling and ownership leverage on the slate's top-total teams — different objectives, not one blended score.

SP

Pitching, not punting

Our research shows winning lineups carry real pitching output, not the field's cheapest arm. The optimizer weighs starting pitcher spend accordingly instead of maximizing bats at the position's expense.

LOCK

Confirmed-lineup, late-scratch protection

Lineups are gated against confirmed starting lineups before lock, so a late scratch doesn't leave you rostering a player who never takes an at-bat.

Why this approach

Most public MLB optimizers rank players by projected points per dollar and stack loosely by team. Our own study of ~76,000 opponent lineups across 24 low-stakes DraftKings MLB GPPs found something different: lineups stacking the slate's top run-scoring team hit the top 10 at roughly 35x the rate of lineups stacking a team ranked 7th or worse, and 67% of top-10 finishers stacked one of the two highest-scoring teams on the slate. The optimizer is built to act on that, not around it.
